For the last 13 years, artist Ian Bertram has kept sketchbooks. Part journal, part therapy, these incredibly personal books are where Ian worked through his life. Beautiful works of art, intimate and vulnerable, never before seen by the public. Tiny Onion convinced Ian to let us help him combine them into one book, and share it with the world.
That book is Acheron: a deluxe, bespoke recreation of Ian’s sketchbooks built to his meticulous specifications; a celebration of physical media.
Acheron is an oversized landscape hardcover artbook, featuring 60 pages of beautiful artwork with a handwritten introduction by Ian himself. Our goal was to make it feel as if you are holding Ian’s original sketchbooks. The book is a unique size at 9”x12”, and printed on a gorgeous 200gsm paper, to replicate every intricate detail.
